Count Your Food Groups
Try counting your food groups instead of counting your calorie intake. It can be so overwhelming and time consuming to count your calories everyday. It can even turn into an obsession. You wont want to be thinking about calculating every calorie you consume and wonder if you’re going over your limit or not. A healthy alternative would be to count your servings of each food group that you eat. Just choose healthy options when doing this, especially from the meat, dairy and bread groups. The numbers will be easier to keep track of and it will cut down on obsessing about what you eat.
Eat More Fiber
Here’s a tip to help you cut calories and lose weight. Eat more fiber. While most diets focus on what you need to cut out, consuming fiber allows you to eat carbs without gaining weight. Fiber keeps you full by slowing digestion. Food stays in your stomach longer, leading to stable blood sugars and increased satiety. And Oh Happy Day–Fiber’s bulking quality essentially traps calories and fat from being absorbed by your body and ending up on your thighs!! I don’t know about you, but that tidbit alone makes me hungry for a big ole, juicy apple!
